Blue Blaze earns Gold Hermes Award for redesign of new charter school website

Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence set to open in 2024

Wilmington, Del. Blue Blaze Associates, a full-service strategic marketing agency, was named winner of a 2023 Gold Hermes Award for the launch of a website they designed and developed for the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE). The emerging Sussex County-based charter school will serve sixth through twelfth grade students with a focus on proximate service-learning experiences and a rigorous, personalized curriculum.

To support the school’s enrollment as they open for their first-ever semester in September 2024, Blue Blaze developed the website with a focus on accessibility. The new website features step-by-step instructions about the school application process and allows registration for upcoming events through the online calendar. Additionally, website visitors can switch the language from English to Spanish to Haitian Creole, enabling access for different communities across Sussex County.

Blue Blaze incorporated BASSE’s distinctive purple/orange brand colors with dynamic photos and content to create a welcoming and user-friendly interface for students, parents, employees, and donors. The comprehensive site includes crucial information such as academic schedules, frequently asked questions, career opportunities, and donation options to best serve stakeholder interests.

“We’re excited about the website Blue Blaze developed for us,” said Chantalle Ashford, Founder and Dean of Academic Excellence for BASSE. “It gives our parents, caregivers, and community members easier access to information about our school and helps boost our enrollment. I’m pleased that the website has been thoughtfully designed in ways that will allow it to grow as the school grows over the coming years.”

“It’s been an honor for Blue Blaze to receive this distinguished award for contributing to the establishment of this public charter school,” said Wendy Scott, co-owner and Chief Strategic Officer (CSO) of Blue Blaze Associates. “Creating their attractive new website and other coordinated marketing materials will continue to strengthen community outreach. The vision for what BASSE will become, and the impact their students will have on the world, is truly inspirational.”
