To increase public awareness and action, a coalition of 17 state-wide environmental groups came together to create Delaware Sea Level Rise Awareness Week. Blue Blaze provided pro bono design and marketing services for the grassroots campaign, including branding, key message architecture, press releases, media relations, a downloadable brochure, and an interactive website with a video by 302 Stories, Inc. Blue Blaze was a recipient of a Hermes Gold Award for the pro bono project.
During the first SLR Week, almost 3,000 people attended events with the website receiving more than 5,000 page views. The campaign garnered significant regional and national media attention, the General Assembly officially proclaimed Sea Level Rise Awareness Week (HCR-17), and Governor Markell’s Executive Order 41 directed state agencies to prepare for sea level rise.
